Yesterday at Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge in Sanibel, FL, at high tide, the shorebirds were roosting on a sand bar. I saw some flying in and took this shot just as they were landing. The cinnamon wings of the Marbled Godwit stand out in contrast to the dramatic black-and-white wings of the Willet.

Wings
Yesterday at Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge in Sanibel, FL, at high tide, the shorebirds were roosting on a sand bar. I saw some flying in and took this shot just as they were landing. "Wings" is a nifty photo and a nice comparison of the two species. I also wanted to thank you for the in depth post on the ecological problems at Sanibel Island. It is encouraging to know that many people are involved in finding solutions and that some progress is occurring.
