The weather report was not good this morning. It called for a "wintry mix" overspreading New England and a winter storm warning for tonight with 4 - 8 inches of heavy, wet snow predicted. It is sleeting/snowing right now.
So it's a good day to stay in the office and keep working on our new Stokes North American Field Guide to Birds (entirely different from our existing field guide). More on that later.
And its a good day, if you're our dog, Phoebe, to lay in your little nest and chew on your toys. And yes, that green thing is a partially chewed piece of celery. We occassionally give her veggies to see which she likes. Evidentially, celery is not a hit. And its a good day, if you're Lillian, to drink tea and recover from the flu.
And its also a good day to dream of things to come, like Blackburnian Warblers. So nix on the "wintry mix".
